Program

The scientific program will consist of invited and contributed talks. During the morning sessions there will be one or two 60 min talks (including 15 min for discussion). The contributed talks will be presented during the afternoon parallel sessions and are expected to be 25 min (including 5 min for discussions) long. Public Lecture

The public lecture Our Dark Universe by Lavinia Heisenberg will take place in the Old Observatory on June 18, 18:00.


Social Program

The registration fee includes the welcoming reception on Monday evening on the boat Sisevete saatkond and the conference dinner on Thursday evening at the restaurant Hõlm with nonvegetarian/vegetarian menu options. Costs of both these events for accompanying persons will be 25€.



The conference trip will be an excursion into the nature of Estonia on Wednesday afternoon. We will make a tour at Sangaste castle, climb the Harimägi viewing tower, walk along the Kekkonen hiking track (about 5km in a hilly forest), and relax and at the Väike-Trommi tourist farm where it is possible to play football, do boating, go swimming and have sauna (bring your own towel and swimsuit). The dinner will be typical Estonian farm food (pork, potatoes, vegetables) with a vegetarian alternative and a dessert, coffee, tea. The price will be 30€ per person which includes transportation, ticket to the castle, food and drinks.


On Tuesday evening we plan to organize the traditional Estonian sauna workshop. There is limited number of spots available and the price will be 30€. Please inform the organizers if you are interested in this event.


Cultural Events in Tartu

We would like to bring to your attention unique culture events happening in Tartu at the end of our conference and the weekend that follows. On June 20-22 there is the 150th anniversary of the Estonian Song Festival with the main concert held on Saturday.

On Sunday there is the Saint John's Eve with traditional celebrations including bonfires, followed by Jaanipäev or Saint John's day. These are the most important and unique traditional holidays of Estonia and if you have any possibility, we encourage you to extend your stay and enjoy these holidays with us.
