Geometric Foundations of Gravity in Tartu

Program

The scientific program will consist of invited and contributed talks. The invited talks will be presented in morning sessions, while afternoons will be dedicated to the contributed talks. On Monday and Thursday, we will have two parallel sessions of contributed talks, while on Tuesday there will be only plenary talks. Please see the detailed schedule for a complete overview.

Social Program

The registration fee includes the welcoming reception and the conference dinner in one of the traditional restaurants in Tartu. Costs of both these events for accompanying persons will be 25€.

The conference trip will be an excursion into the nature of Estonia on Wednesday afternoon:

  • Around 13:00 a bus will pick up all participants at the Institute of Physics where the conference takes place.
  • A first stop will be the Illumetsa meteorite crater which explicitly demonstrates the power of gravity
  • We continue to the Valgjärv lake. It is the lake with the clearest water in Estonia and lies inside a serene pine tree forest. There we will set our base where traditional food and drinks will be served.
  • From here we offer several options: Either staying at the lakeside to enjoy nature, to participate in the 5,8 km walk in the Meenikunno bog hiking trail or a walk at the Nohipalu Black Lake
  • The price will be 30€ per person which includes transportation, food and drinks.

Please register and pay for the trip and the accompaying person in our payment system.

We plan to organize additional social activities, including the traditional Estonian sauna workshop. Details will be posted here soon.
